Well obviously one of my main goals is to post more on here! Feels like forever since my last post, but Christmas and the general madness of December appears to have got in the way.
So here we are in 2020! Makes me feel old. I am actually another year older having celebrated (or rather endured) a birthday over the festive period. Quick tip….don’t have a December birthday! Anyway enough of that, it’s onward and upwards now that we’re in the new year. Feeling generally more positive and have been working on goal setting over the last week. I have lots…..however to try and keep it simple….I’m focusing on 2-3 for now. These are:
- To read the entire selection of the Richard and Judy Book Club for 2020. From what I can work out, there are 5 ‘seasons’ and 6 books in each. 30 books a year is a challenge! I’m doing this as I have always LOVED reading!! As a child it was how I spent most of my time. Over the last couple of years, I’ve focused more on Non-Fiction and I kind of want to go back to reading for pure enjoyment. I figured this book club would give me a wide range of books that I might not have otherwise chosen! I will be keeping track of it both in my Bullet Journal and on Goodreads.
- To lose 21 lbs by the end of the year. I have re-joined Slimming World and am keeping a daily food diary. I’m also meal planning every meal and trying to increase my exercise level. Any other tips?
- To be credit card debt free by the end of 2020. This is one I will not be posting much detail about, but I am tracking my spending, have a budget and am increasing my hours when I move to a new job in a few weeks. All the extra will be going straight to pay off the debt. For motivation, I plan to follow Dave Ramsey’s baby steps. I currently have £1000 saved as an emergency fund…so now we’re on to Step 2…..paying off debt excluding the mortgage.
I have other goals…..but if I can make significant progress in these areas then I’ll feel I’ve achieved something this year. There is so much that I want to do…but I have learnt from experience that if I over complicate things, I struggle to focus and don’t achieve anything!
Anyone else got goals that they’re striving for this year? Oh.. and of course I aim to post weekly on here!! Help keep me accountable and give me a nudge if I drift off..OK? x
